It's shame that you don't get the popup as a EU citizen when outside the EU
- stingraycharles 2y agoOh, so that’s the reason I didn’t get it. And let me guess, you also don’t get the pop up as a non-EU citizen inside the EU.
- zarzavat 2y agoUsually laws apply of the place that you are in, regardless of whether you are a citizen or not.
- Moldoteck 2y agoafaik gdpr works in such a way that even if you are eu citizen in the us, you still benefit from this law
- stingraycharles 2y agoYes but my iCloud account is tied to my home country in the EU, I figured they would be using that as a reference.
- CalRobert 2y agoI don't think Apple has citizenship status of every user in EU. At least, my experiences didn't change when I was naturalised and gained EU citizenship.
- rcbdev 2y agoThen either they should figure out a legal way to comply or leave their products out of the union.
- prmoustache 2y agoThat the thing, even if they are out of the union they need to comply with the law when they have EU citizen customers/users. Also there is absolutely no concept of geolocalization on the internet, and all attempts to do that are just "tried my best but still broken".
- CalRobert 2y agoWell, yeah, my point was it should work for anyone in the EU
