Meanwhile, mere mortals can't afford Bay Area rent and either commute insane distances, live in their cars, or leave. In other news, people do sometimes live in surreptitiously in storage units. And if you're really very poor, squatting in property that is unused and locked up for investment purposes seems a moral duty.
