JetBrains deprecates Rust plugin for their IDEs to push people to buy RustRover
- tempaccount420 3y agoIs there any benefit of using a JetBrains IDE for Rust over any other editor with rust-analyzer? Their IDEs were always slow for me, even on good hardware.
- denysvitali 3y agoVery good code indexing, good refactoring tools, impressive debugger and overall better developer experience (IMHO)

- anigbrowl 3y agoTheir C compiler is also paid, but you can have it for free if you maintain an open-source project (in C, I assume).
- MissTake 3y agoI get the annoyance from many folk about this rug pull. However from what I can gather It will be part of the All Products pack[1]. So comments like the following do seem to be incorrect: “ I've faithfully paid for subscription for All Product Pack. And now I won't be able to use Rust in projects that revolve around other platform?” [1]: https://www.jetbrains.com/rust/ https://www.jetbrains.com/rust/
