US to award Samsung up to $6.6B chip subsidy for Texas expansion
- osnium123 2y agoWhat’s noteworthy about this announcement is that Samsung will also be opening up an R&D fab as well in their Texas site. This is in contrast to the TSMC Arizona fab, which is going to be manufacturing only.
- doncho 3y agoSuch an enormous waste of taxpayers' funds should trigger a well-deserved outrage among Americans, but I guess Americans have seen it all and just don't care anymore.
- _JamesA_ 3y agoMaybe I am naive but whatever it takes to bring critical manufacturing back to the United States is a good thing.
