Scientists can't fully explain recent climate change records
- rekabis 3y ago“Hotter than expected.” “Faster than expected.” “Sooner than expected.” Scientific predictions are exceedingly conservative on purpose. Maybe we need to be exposing that fact a little more vigorously. Because right now, most any climate scientist who is looking at the whole picture - or even a decent chunk of it - is in a state of strong panic and existential dread. The unpublished data - which cannot be published without more data or more thorough analysis - is painting a very bleak picture for the latter half of the century, with conditions that will be fatal for over half of the world’s population. And that is before chaotic weather causes the collapse of the industrial agriculture that almost 100% of humanity depends on.
