Show HN: Train Station Pianos
Hello HN! Last year I launched airportpianos.org, a site to catalog airport pianos. Since then, 39 pianos have been submitted. Several performance optimizations have been made to ensure the site is fast.
Now, I am working on trainstationpianos.org, a site to catalog train station pianos. We have 13 pianos catalogued since the site started a week ago.
If you know of any train station pianos, I would love to index them on the website so others can find them. The more precise the location -- to the platform, or region of the station -- the better.
Some notes: The site has no ads (I don't like ads, and fast pages are essential for low connectivity browsing, such as on a train in the countryside), and; The code is open source (https://github.com/capjamesg/train-station-pianos https://github.com/capjamesg/train-station-pianos).

- matteason 2y agoVery nice! Reminds me of OpenBenches: https://openbenches.org/ https://openbenches.org/ You've missed one 'airports' in the footer: 'This page lists pianos that have been confirmed to be in airports around the world.' Thought about branching out into train station organs? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Bridge_station_organ?useskin=vector https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Bridge_station_organ?us...
- zerojames 2y agoI will make that substitution, thank you! Someone told me about that organ. I had just added it to my backlog. I have never played a real organ. I wonder how Taylor Swift's music would sound on an organ...
- novariation 2y agoYou can add Gare Saint Lazare in Paris ! https://www.garesetconnexions.sncf/fr/gares-services/paris-saint-lazare/services-commerces/piano-gare?language=en https://www.garesetconnexions.sncf/fr/gares-services/paris-s... Reportedly 51 french train stations have a piano according to the SNCF official website :) https://www.garesetconnexions.sncf/fr/actualites/pianos-reviennent-gare https://www.garesetconnexions.sncf/fr/actualites/pianos-revi...
