  Randall Munroe's partner was diagnosed with cancer a while (10+ years) and there has been several comics and blogs about it over the years. This ellipsis to him is something perhaps he didn't think he'd be doing with his partner. This I think is a really good comic - https://xkcd.com/931/ https://xkcd.com/931/

  Ya gotta work a bit on your empathy there. I think it’s pretty clear that the ellipsis is something more than just an ellipsis to them.
