  It doesn’t matter until it matters. I would’ve hoped those running counties wouldn’t be so short sighted. The older I get, the more apparent it becomes that politicians are just people with giant blind spots and knowledge gaps, with varying degrees of humility when it comes to dealing with those shortcomings. I have a hard time telling of politicians are getting worse as time goes on, or I’m just getting old enough to realize how bad they’ve always been.
