X challenges Brazil's 'forced' order to block certain accounts
- rpgbr 3y agoThe funny part is that X's Brazilian office was closed right after Musk took over and since then it's Mexican office that answers requests and deals with authorities.
- xenospn 3y agoI don’t get it - isn’t Twitter heavily self-censoring in India? Why is he making such a big fuss about Brazil?
- rpgbr 3y agoBecause in India it's his friends that are censoring people, and in Brazil it's the opposite. (Also, in Brazil the accounts were blocked by Justice orders, not the government, and following the legal process stablished by law, not the whims of the President.)
- jogaforanolixo 3y agoIn Brazil, everyone has freedom of speech, but it's important to be aware of the consequences of your words. Elon Musk is referring to people who have been censored, who are generally associated with the far right and considered criminals according to our country's laws. These individuals include advocates for the creation of a Nazi party, those who support seizing power through armed struggle, and those involved in the attack on our capital and attempted coup. While some decisions by Minister Alexandre de Moraes may be debated, they are grounded in our constitution. It's important to note that we don't live in a state of censorship, but rather in a country with laws that differ significantly from those of the United States.
