- mdaniel 3y agooh, interesting, so it can be a kafka replacement: https://github.com/cloudamqp/lavinmq/tree/v1.2.10#stream-queues https://github.com/cloudamqp/lavinmq/tree/v1.2.10#stream-que... (it's Apache 2)
- SJC_Hacker 3y agoAs I understand it Kafka was high-throughput/high-latency, whereas MQ (at least RabbitMQ) is the opposite - low-throughput/low-latency. So they're solving different problems (streaming vs. message delivery)
- floating-io 3y agoI'm surprised that a few quick and obvious searches doesn't turn up an obvious LavinMQ vs. RabbitMQ direct comparison (other than the featured result, a terrible Medium post that looks like an LLM wrote it). I see lots of "LavinMQ is/does this!", but not "and this is how it's different from RabbitMQ..." Can anyone point out a resource?
- alberth 3y agoSlightly OT: Are ZeroMQ and NanoMQ still widely used (and recommended)? https://github.com/zeromq/libzmq https://github.com/zeromq/libzmq https://github.com/nanomq/nanomq https://github.com/nanomq/nanomq
