  Well, for starters the whole standard library is blocking, so are all the third-party libraries. Then you have the fact that any good developer who knows PHP is also going to know enough Javascript to get by already. The only reason I can think of for this to be a good idea is to allow you to use your existing PHP libraries in an evented system. React does not (and cannot) do this.
