It could be we are talking about slightly different demographic groups here… Gen Z types are not happy with the Democrats because they don’t see them as progressive enough. That is a real problem, and I suspect what could happen over the next decade is a party split like what’s happening in the Republicans - something like has already happened in Germany between SPD and Greens. In Germany, progressives 40+ still mostly vote SPD; their kids vote green. I see the same thing happening with democrats- my generation will mostly remain with the Ds, the younger people are less partisan and don’t understand why parties exist and thus they are eager for something different.
