Greed isn’t the problem. All companies and organizations in general are greedy for more resources and greater responsibility.
Boeing is guilty of lack of foresight, lack of technical proficiency, lack of engineering culture. The problem is stupidity. Incompetence. Putting powerpoint monkeys and financial finanglers in charge and relegating the problem-solvers to the lower reaches of the pyramid.

I will contend further that trying to make a quick buck out of a massive, ongoing company with long-term potential is also the work of idiots - simply don’t rock the boat and you’ll make billions upon billions more. They lack a true engineering culture that goes all the way to the top.
