- fbdab103 3y agoI am super interested in this, and would love to to hear if people have any user experience with the tool thus far. On paper, it hits all of the right notes: full git compatibility so I can silently use a superior tool, Rust so it is cross platform, deliberately thought out UI. The one thing keeping me from taking the plunge is I (probably my bad workflow) really lean on editing a bunch of code and then selectively committing individual lines (eg I am editing foo(), but I see comment string for bar() is wrong. I tweak both, and when I get around to it will selectively make two commits from the edited lines). It seems like this workflow is a bit more painful to hit. At least, there is no visual tooling which is going to understand jj right now, so it is up to me to do that commit surgery. I thought this[0] jj tutorial does a lot to sell the experience. - steveklabnik 3y agoI went to reply, and then see you’ve linked me already :) thanks for the kind words. Check out gg as a graphical interface. It’s still very young, but it might be of help!
- fbdab103 3y agoThanks for the tip, that does look like it might be enough for me to get over the hump. For anyone else looking, it is "Gui for JJ" https://github.com/gulbanana/gg https://github.com/gulbanana/gg
