I feel I'm a mediocre blind developer and it does suck, mostly just the blind part though.
I do my best not to let my coworkers know I'm blind (I work remotely.) Mostly to avoid either 'cripple porn' or being disregarded. Either way, it's easier.
- cies 3y agoQuite bizar you can hide the fact your blind at work. But yeah, why not, fuck pity.
- bitwize 3y agoI'm "on the spectrum" as they say, and I don't talk about it much; I'm quite concerned with what's called "passing". I want people around me to focus on the things I can do, rather than the things I can't do. Can totally empathize with that someone with a more acute disability than mine, such as blindness, would want to do the same.
