Cloudflare acquires Baselime to expand serverless application observability
- joshstrange 3y agoI've been a user of Baselime for a while now and they have been the best serverless monitoring service I've tried. If Cloudflare is able to implement the same tools and maintain cross-cloud compatibility then I'll happily keep using it. My biggest issue with Baselime was the pricing. I wish more things for serverless scaled to 0 like most serverless functions themselves. Baselime tried out a number of pricing approaches and settled on their paid plans starting at $80/mo. IMHO this is too high of a "cliff" ($0->$80) but that's probably because I wanted to use it for my personal company which has very spiky load (next to 0 traffic 9 out of the 12 months) so paying for monthly tools that have a high minimum price are a hard sell. I'm excited that Baselime is now free for up to 1 billion events a month, I was a few days away from going ahead and paying $80/mo so I could monitor more environments but now that's unlimited as well. Looking forward to getting full coverage tomorrow when I have time to set it up. I'm cautiously optimistic about this acquisition.
