- musicale 3y agoApple seems to have been one of the holdouts in not laying off employees in anticipation of automation and lower market wages for tech workers.
- lulznews 3y agoGotta get those numbers up to pump the stock Timmy.
- MichaelMug 3y agoIn my view, Apple's car project always seemed a bit nebulous and potentially misaligned with their core strengths which is high-margin consumer electronics. Some quick googling suggests car margins for manufacturers are no where near Apple's margins.
- petre 3y agoYet Xiaomi managed to build cars.
- perryizgr8 3y agoXiaomi doesn't have apple margins on phones either. So maybe it's ok for them.
- aitchnyu 3y agoSamsung: hold my soju... Serious version: They have a partnership with Renault. As a large group their subsidiaries buy each other and they make guns.
- pquki4 3y agoXiaomi didn't try to "reinvent" the car by spending a few years trying many stupid designs that look nothing like a conventional car, as in previous reports. They wanted to make a car that has their design and has their logo on it, and they did it. Talking about being pragmatic.
