KDE6 release: D-Bus and Polkit Galore
- jauntywundrkind 3y agoWow, this is grossss. There's a number of other "omg for real kde?!" moments, but right off the bat: > A peculiarity of KAuth is that, instead of the native D-Bus data types, only binary blob objects are transferred on D-Bus level, that are based on the QVariantMap data type offered by the Qt framework. "Peculiarity" is an extremely generous & polite way of putting it. KDE ignores dbus & the actual protocol & uses it/hijacks it as a dumb transport? Anyone getting to talk to kde is going to hate life? I'm shocked kde would do such a dirty thing, would be such a terrible terrible FreeDesktop citizen. This post is more "kde gore" than galore.
