I was not expecting this to hit the front page.
Site is currently experiencing the "hug of death."
General information for new people: the HOPE hacker conference is this July 12-14 at St. John's University in Queens, New York City. 10% of all ticket sales for the month of April are donated to the EFF.
You can buy tickets at https://store.2600.com/products/tickets-to-hope-xv https://store.2600.com/products/tickets-to-hope-xv
Or just be patient until the site loads and you can watch the funny videos.
You can also watch the videos on the Youtube playlist at:

Or check out @hopeconf on twitter/x, mastodon, and instagram, where the videos have been posted.
- nyc_data_geek 3y agoThe funny videos in question are also available here (Youtube), if you don't have time to be patient. Still, buy tickets and go to HOPE! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcajvRZA8E08mP8_JddQQDZ3T25pDmXyW https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcajvRZA8E08mP8_JddQQ...
- aestetix 3y agoHah, you posted right as I was editing the post. Thanks!
- crtasm 3y agoWill there be any livestreams? Have a great con!
- aestetix 3y agoNot only will there be livestreams, but there is a virtual ticket people can buy who can't attend in person but want to support: https://store.2600.com/products/tickets-to-hope-xv-virtual-attendee https://store.2600.com/products/tickets-to-hope-xv-virtual-a...
- crtasm 3y agoExcellent! "Virtual attendees will have access to all talks" leaves me wondering how much will be available to non-ticket holders (checked https://hope.net/faq.html https://hope.net/faq.html also).
- aestetix 3y agoFor HOPE 2020 and "A New HOPE" (2022), we had a matrix/element/whatever system set up just for ticket/virtual ticket holders. In addition to the ability to virtually hang out with other attendees, virtual attendees can join "rooms" that are linked into the talks, and have their questions related from the chat to the speaker. It's not the same as being in person, but makes the event more accessible for everyone who can't be there for whatever reason. To clarify: the talks will be streamed live free for all. The virtual ticket is a way for people to support if they can't attend, but we want to make the information accessible to everyone.
- crtasm 3y agoI appreciate this approach, thankyou.
