“Like our machines, our website looks awful on a phone.”
Someone could’ve spent literally 5 minutes making this look reasonable on the world’s most popular web browsing device form facto, whilst still retaining the site’s retro virtue signalling aesthetic, AND it wouldn’t have taken away from their ‘core mission’ or whatever.
If you don’t care, don’t have a website at all.
- dullcrisp 3y agoWho left you in charge?
- mulmen 3y agoSometimes the children really are wrong.
- ihumanable 3y agoOn my phone the website looks essentially identical to how it looks on my desktop browser. Does it look different on yours. It's just a plaintext website with white text on a black background and it's fast to load and easy to read for me. What's wrong with it?
- mplewis 3y agoThe text is too small to read on a phone without scrolling sideways.
- kalkr 3y agoman wtf does virtue signaling even mean anymore
- yareal 3y agoHint: it never meant anything.
- hackerlight 3y agoUnstated benefit of the website is it repels the right people.
- Lvl999Noob 3y agoI only looked at the linked article and the homepage so maybe diagrams and such look worse, but those pages look fabulous on phone to me. I wish more sites looked like this one.
- tsukurimashou 3y agousing a phone to browse the web is really sad
