Apple Services Are Down (Music/Arcade/Fitness/TV/Audiobooks/Appstore)
- kernelguardian 3y agoApple services down are (Music/Arcade/Fitness/TV/Audiobooks/Appstore)
- earthWindFi 3y agoThose services are down for me in HK
- codetrotter 3y agoSpain too. Weird! What did they mess up so badly that two countries so far apart are both affected?
- xanderlewis 3y agoUK too. For nearly an hour now too.

- SuperNinKenDo 3y ago"Apple School Manager". Fascinating.
- neom 3y ago"Apple School Manager is a simple, web-based portal for IT administrators that works with your third-party mobile device management (MDM) solution so that you can easily buy content in volume, whether your organization uses iPhone, iPad, or Mac." https://support.apple.com/guide/apple-school-manager/intro-to-apple-school-manager-axm7909096bf/web https://support.apple.com/guide/apple-school-manager/intro-t...
- jen729w 3y agoAustralia here. Strangely Siri will play music via the HomePod, but the Music app is not responding.
- sss111 3y agomakes sense, things are weird when the world is upside down
- xyst 3y agoWith the WhatsApp/Facebook/instagram outage earlier today. I am thinking this is either a cloud provider issue or DNS or BGP issue lol
- jen729w 3y agoIt’s always BGP!
- greyface- 3y agoI'm still seeing the normal AS714 prefixes in my table, both over direct IX peering sessions and via transit. If it's BGP, it's not an issue with their external announcements.
- user_7832 3y agoI always thought that these outages were relatively benign from a user perspective, but after the last major WhatsApp outage a few weeks back I somehow got logged out of my main phone as I tried to "log in" to my 2nd device (and later failed to log back in to the main device that has all data). It appears such edge cases aren't really thoroughly tested, which seems disappointing but also surprising to me.

- xyst 3y agoNumber of outages is increasing. Originally it was 6, now it's up to 11. earlier post (archived): https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39924328 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39924328
- neom 3y agoLooks like 6 core services are off, seems that rolls up to 11 products: https://developer.apple.com/system-status/ https://developer.apple.com/system-status/
- DanAtC 3y agoIf only there were third-party app stores...
- jen729w 3y ago…then my Apple Music app would be responding now?

- gnicholas 3y agoIs this why I can't control lights via Apple Home? That's pretty lousy if so... Interestingly, the App Store is now working for me (wasn't a few minutes ago).
- xanderlewis 3y agoHomeKit is apparently functioning fine, so maybe not.
- xanderlewis 3y agoLooks like the App Store is back up now (at least here in the UK).
- gnicholas 3y agoSame here in the US.
- ffsm8 2y ago...flagged? Really? HN really is Apple Simp Central. This is literally just linking to Apples own status page
