- htrp 3y agoWonder what the economics have to be for a single AI powered search?
- persolb 3y agoI think the window on this being viable is pretty short. On-PC LLMs can already produce these summaries fairly well. Summarizing results across websites isn’t one of the harder tasks. The missing piece is a user friendly UI that makes it usable to people who have never heard of GitHub.
- teslabox 3y agoI think the real advantage of a google AI over Bing's AI is their book project and library of scholarly papers: https://books.google.com https://books.google.com and https://scholar.google.com https://scholar.google.com I've asked the Bing Chatbot some questions. While it was good for finding relevant webpages, one of its answers cited my (recent) webpage. I was not impressed. The answers I was looking for are in the old paper books that Google may or may not have digitized, or in the mountain of papers that were published in the pre-internet era.
- htrp 3y agoDoes the books case (Authors Guild v. Google) allow for AI training ? I thought it was only display in search?
- nimzoLarsen 3y agoI for one do not plan on paying for hallucinated answers trained on Reddit / Quora posts
