does anybody know if Amazon accepts cash?
seriousness though—pretty mild use of data profiling. unlike most other data brokering nowadays, one couldn't be reasonably surprised that a revolving creditor processes (hopefully only) the most basic purchasing history of its customers. and i'm just as content to receive nominal discounts on the stuff i'm already buying as the next profile.
- JohnFen 3y agoI know you snark, but Amazon does accept cash in an indirect way. You can buy Amazon gift cards with cash and use that for your online purchases.
- nickburns 3y agoobscure snark no less. Chase is still the Amazon-branded Visa card issuer. and yup. or even better, any ol' payment processor-processed card (e.g., Visa or Mastercard processed 'gift cards') purchased with cash or other accepted currency. card retailer with dodgy surveillance optional.
- xyst 3y agoThis is only the beginning, buddy.
- nickburns 3y agoon the contrary, we're already well past knee-deep imo. this is simply about Chase playing some relatively benign, intentionally public-facing catch-up (and almost inevitably for less-than-scrupulous purposes like sheer bottom-line at whatever non-economic cost).
