> In order to successfully accomplish a laser guided strike it is necessary for a platform, such as a drone, to “illuminate” the target with a laser while the missile is launched. In order to achieve accurate targeting, platforms which take part in this kind of targeting, such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or fast jets, are equipped with advanced optics and sensor pods. These are capable of extremely high optical magnification. This is notable because at least one of the vehicles clearly bears the logo of World Central Kitchen on the roof. It is likely these markings would have been visible from above when the strike was carried out, although this depends on the capability of the optic used to track the vehicle.
- sylware 3y agoI don't know the capabilities of such weapon systems, all I see is what we have on TV: a threat was identified as a moving vehicule, usually a bright shape on a black and white IR/thermal monitor. And even if that weapon system was able to perform a high quality visible light magnification... how do know this is not a trick from the opponents?
- dunekid 3y agoApparently all the weapons both during day and night have the capability to kill journalists and aid workers. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/reuters-videographer-killed-southern-lebanon-2023-10-13/ https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/reuters-videograph... At some point you will need to really have a look at the idea that, it is by design. And working exactly as intended.
- sylware 3y agoAnd how do you differentiate between fake journalists and fake aid workers with very little reaction time? Don't you see this is a very dangerous fantasy to believe that.

- sylware 3y agoYou don't know they "told" the IDF enough to be trusted as not being a threat, and you will never know unless the IDF does acknowledge something out of this. And something does not add up: the IDF has no reason to trust those orgs in the first place... that should be actually the other way around as those orgs could be leverage in some way by the opponents as they are moving on war grounds.

- enterprise_cog 3y agoTook you long enough. It is about my views. You won’t even warn people who shit post Israeli propaganda. You allow genocide denial. You let people abuse flags to silence others. Shit moderation, you should be embarrassed, but you have no shame.
