When I visited South East Asia, the amount of Chinese state funding in those countries was clear -- from new railways and dams in Laos, to mega malls and resorts in Cambodia.
I'd wager that Chinese investment is helping them to win favour in the region.
- 082349872349872 3y agoOne factor that I'd love to have some hard data on: - people who espouse extreme opinions online in chinese are not necessarily legible to any other south east asians. - people who espouse extreme opinions online* in english are probably legible to younger other south east asians. * including on the orange site
