Many American consumers follow design trends with vehicles and play the keeping up with the Jones' with what is popular. Tesla's vehicles have not had any major redesign and that I believe would be a true test of a vehicle manufacturer is if they can iterate on the design, retool their factories and deliver it well, as in its well received in the marketplace. I doubt their sales are plunging this much because of internet bafoonery of the leader. I think its that the designs are beginning to look tired in contrast of other EV options out there. If Tesla doesn't have a redesign cooking, I would expect their competitors to eat up market share over the next few years. Kia is killing it with their designs and revamp of their products.
