Carmakers give up on software that avoids kangaroos
- pedalpete 3y agoStrange, VW just announced the Roobadge as an option https://www.volkswagen.com.au/en/roobadge.html https://www.volkswagen.com.au/en/roobadge.html
- inkyoto 3y agoThe article is talking about the motion detection that falters when it encounters kangaroos but works flawlessly with quadrapedal animals whose motion follows more easily predictable patterns. Kangaroo deterents have existed for a while, e.g. https://www.shuroo.com.au/ https://www.shuroo.com.au/, although their actual effeciency is not well known (or, I do not know). It will be interesting what VW will bring to the table once the Roo Badge becomes commercially available.
