  Not sure if this is a strange Meta joke, but wasn't it "You wouldn't download a car" ?

    I think the joke is that they would let you download a car for full price, and then kill it after a few years because it is too expensive to run their vehicle database server (and also because they have a new model out, but no one says that part out loud). In 2050 Hacker News software engineers will claim that it is lunacy to imagine buying a car and owning it forever. How can that even possibly work?
