Linus Torvalds accepts a merge commit to the Linux kernel
- peter_l_downs 3y agoThis isn't supposed to happen, the repo is a read-only mirror. Very weird. Anyone know what's going on? edit: maybe an april fools thing?
- frankjr 3y agoI don't know what's going on with the GitHub pull request but I'm guessing Linus didn't actually merged it using GitHub but rather as part of [0] and GitHub noticed the commit got merged and automatically closed the PR. - remram 3y agoAlmost certainly what happened, the merge commit looks nothing like what you could make from GitHub (merging a tag). https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/8d7e76846521440255a15180c6a7a170654fbb5a https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/8d7e76846521440255a...
- peter_l_downs 3y agoAh, that makes sense. Thanks!
- lewis1028282 3y agoI don't think Linus can merge from GitHub. Linux requires DCO and it to be reviewed by 2 people (or maybe this is outdated now?)
