  No one steal my plan of buying a farm and raising cattle okay? I just need another ten more years gruelling over PowerShell to save funds for land and then I can run away from the internet forever.

  This title is clickbait and misrepresents something Discord had for years as "ads": "Discord Drops" are in-game challenges (originally just "stream this game for X minutes to at least 1 viewer") that grant you a key for some in-game promo content, like an item skin. They had a cross-promotion with Halo Infinite in 2022 that did this: https://afkgaming.com/esports/guide/discord-drops-how-to-set-up-and-redeem https://afkgaming.com/esports/guide/discord-drops-how-to-set... The setting for this has existed for over 2 years now. It's just very, very underutilized. From the looks of things, they've just probably got more game companies on board this time: > “The paid promotions are from videogame makers and will offer users gifts for completing in-game tasks while their friends watch on Discord,”
