It's similar to the land hemisphere: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_hemisphere https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_hemisphere
Which I suppose ought to be unsurprising. There are slight differences, though. The land hemisphere's center is near Nantes, France; the human hemisphere's center is a bit to the south, in western Switzerland.
The opposite of the land hemisphere is the water hemisphere, which is almost centered on New Zealand: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_hemisphere https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_hemisphere

The map gives a sense of how isolated the Maori (the native people) were, before modern means of travel! But the literal end of the (land centric) Earth isn't a backwater. It is a microcosm of many of the most dramatic natural features of the world bundled together. Fiords, alps, rain forest, mountain forest, geothermal region, volcanic region, glaciers, wetlands, limestone caves, mountain forests, pastoral landscapes, river valleys, lakes, beaches, and general coastal regions. Cliffs giving up massive crystal geodes that break open as they litter a beach - surreal, like out of a Star Trek episode of some alien planet. One place that is interesting in so many ways.
- madcaptenor 3y agoI was wondering what the difference between the two hemispheres is. Here's a quick map from gcmap.com: http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?R=10000km%4047.22n1.53w%0D%0A10000km%4046.5n7e&MS=wls&DU=mi http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?R=10000km%4047.22n1.53w%0D%0A1000... It looks like the land area that is in the land hemisphere but not the human hemisphere is a strip running from Peru down to southern Brazil; the land area that is in the human hemisphere but not the land hemisphere is unsurprisingly more oceanic but pulls in bits of Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan.
