Well, docker is basically the same thing without the excess resource usage (wastage in many cases) of a type 2 hypervisor. Also, had a long-forgotten setup with vagrant that I later came back to and couldn't start the VM after a couple of upgrades to vagrant & its dependencies. So take that as you will.
