- iforgotpassword 3y ago48GB VRAM gaming let's GOOOOOO. But seriously, most of that stuff is completely useless for anything but machine learning tasks, which you'll find some hobbyists for, but for all that stuff that is floating around right now? As a hobbyist you need one GPU.
- willis936 3y agoI'm really excited for it. It's clear to me that the AI proponents are psychopaths trying to do scary and dangerous things to prove their tech is powerful. - vasili111 3y agoNew and more chips will come and make AI more cheap. I do not expect AI too crash, it is too useful.
- ewalk153 3y ago17x is a big hurdle to overcome. Likely: - models will get a lot more efficient for storing and retrieving information - the marginal value created with this same hardware will increase - the market price for this hardware will continue to fall similar to historic norms I expect this to set a floor on the crash. We will continue to get better and better predictions at more affordable prices.
