Charitable take on Elon’s powers of foresight. Not so sure he thinks much further out than tomorrow.
- throwaway11460 3y agoIf he can get so far while thinking only about tomorrow, he's the absolute genius. Can't even imagine what he could do if he thought a week in advance.
- Terr_ 3y agoAh, but are we talking about how far in advance someone plans for their own benefit, or is it how far in advance they think of the needs of customers and stakeholders? Those two values are frequently different. I think we're on something like year 7 of Musk promising perfect self-driving cars in one more year.
- throwaway11460 3y agoWe are also in year 9 of self-landing rocket boosters launching 100 times a year reused 10+ times, on the other hand. Or that's the work of SpaceX team and not Musk? So when it fails it's Musk and Musk only, but when it succeeds it's not Musk at all?

- throwaway11460 3y agoI bought AMD for $3 and Nvidia for $90. I got lucky, you got lucky. Building companies is much more work than a lucky trade or two.
