It’s a lovely story, but given the pre-existing myth of Utnapishtim, the biblical account is basically Babylonian mythology fan fiction.
- carlosjobim 3y agoWhy is it brought up as a bad thing that the myths are much older than the compilation book the Bible? That makes the myths more interesting and impressive.
- edgyquant 3y agoWhat exactly is this suppose to change? I don’t think it really happened, myths are ways of encapsulating truths they aren’t historical events generally, but assuming it was real why would it being older than the Bible disprove that?
