The quote is great, but I feel like in CS it does get easier with time, unless one is switching project/specialty and even then, with more maturity, one has learned to learn, and mastering other parts of the stack (or other stacks entirely) makes it faster to build analogies and spot differences.
- koromak 3y agoI feel like it gets easier and slower. Obviously not at first, but a decade or two in? Once you start knowing all of those things you didn't know, you realize just how much consideration is required for every decision.
- JohnFen 3y agoIf I notice that it's getting easier with time, I take that as a sign that I'm not doing challenging enough work.
