I tried getting my daughters interested when they were younger. They got bored quickly and pushed back, so I dropped it. I'm glad I did. My eldest daughter asked me when she was 10 1/2 if I'd teach her. It was so much better that way; if I'd tried to push it on her I don't think it would have worked.
