Why are my credit cards still embossed?

  This is from 2012, and at least in Canada, they are disappearing - the front of the cards are just branding, chip, and nfc icon.

    Hmm. I just got new cards from 3 different chartered banks since last summer. Will say that silver on the numbers of all of them is just about worn off

  My latest CC from Westpac is not embossed at all, and isn't covered with a printed film. No more peeling card! It has two small raised dots. And a notch at one end. Which I assume are for blind people.

  I wish mine still was. I'm a filthy landscaper and all the print on my cards inevitably wear off.
