Kept the site invite only during some turbulent times on Twitter. I think that strategy was a huge misfire.
- mattl 3y agoKept it up and operational and didn't make it immediately unpleasant or impossible to use during that time and allowed them to find a balance for moderation.
- dilyevsky 3y agoI think if there’s one thing that twitter proved decisively is that users dont actually care if the site is stable and bunch of things are jank
- CSSer 3y agoTheir user count and revenue has dropped like a rock. Obviously other factors are at play, but what decisive evidence is there? Even anecdotally I have to admit that I’ve clicked on Twitter links that unexpectedly failed to load and decided to hit the back button instead of trying to reload several times.
- dilyevsky 3y agoIm talking about the failwhale times mostly and there’s a bunch of bugs that go back a decade at this point
- mattl 3y agoBluesky has been refreshing better than Twitter in that respect
