A great Feature Request write-up for a GUI tool to manage WSL instances.
Similar to the "Library" page for the macOS Parallels app, the management screen in QEMU, the starting page in VMWare Workstation, etc.
Windows already has a Management Console plugin and perhaps other means of managing Hyper-V instances, both local and remote, but the Management Console framework in general is a UI that dates back to at least Windows NT 4. The same wrapper app hosts the Device Manager, the Event Viewer, the Services...
The pieces are there, but it could benefit from an app. Seems consistent with Windows evolution: four different user interfaces, moving towards the current user interface design.
