- ametrau 3y agoYou know what? Screw these greedy bastards (Boots up windows laptop) I’m just not going to use them anymore (Goes to Amazon.com to order milk) It has to be open source (Unlocks iPhone)
- eindiran 3y agoFor anyone wondering why this is here, I just found this: https://redis.com/blog/redis-adopts-dual-source-available-licensing/ https://redis.com/blog/redis-adopts-dual-source-available-li... > Redis will no longer be distributed under the three-clause Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD). As of 6 days ago.
- _mlbt 3y agoIf there is community demand for it, a fork will appear. It’s a mature software project at this point so the maintenance burden should be manageable with a small core team of community developers.
- Havoc 3y agoThe allure of big money means “always” promises have become “for the foreseeable future”
- bdcravens 3y agoHe no longer runs the project, as of 1365 days ago. http://antirez.com/news/133 http://antirez.com/news/133
- pcranaway 3y agoexactly. i don't understand why people feel the need to blame antirez. he wouldn't do that if he still ran the project anyway
- trueismywork 3y agoThe best way to ensure that the license doesn't change is to forego copyright assignment. So if someone is really committed to making sure that license will never change, that's what they'll do. Antirez didn't do that
- bramblerose 3y agoThat only works for copyleft licenses. Even with Antirez' original work fully available under BSD, there is nothing stopping Redis Labs from adding new code under a proprietary license.
- unquietwiki 3y agoThis website gets blocked by ESET as having a failed security cert. Be advised.
- richbell 3y agoThe link is HTTP.
- lemper 3y agobro, just let it go. use garnet or dragonfly or whatever floats your goat. but keep in mind, MBAs will keep doing MBAs things.
