Causality runs both ways here, though. Stress is known to damage the brain, stress leads to substance abuse which damages the brain, pollution exposure is known to blunt cognitive function, shift-work is known to damage the body, bad childhood nutrition and bad health of the parent during natal development. Factors that would add up to some level of brain damage.
- cupcakecommons 3y agoI don't deny stress prevents organisms from reaching their genetically-defined potential. I'm resisting a dishonest worldview that's sneaking inside the title but isn't present in the paper itself. All the statement about height was intended to be was a counterbalance that demonstrates the dishonesty of the editorialized title.
