For non chess players: 1 minute means the players each have 1 minute total thinking time for the entire game.
Except there's a concept called "premove" - you can move when your opponent hasn't moved yet, and if possible it will be played automatically once he does, taking no time off your clock. But of course, you have to guess what he's going to do.
- kelipso 3y agoTime for premove depends on the website you play in. I think chesscom premove time is 0.01 seconds. lichess premove time used be 0 seconds, I think they added a millisecond recently.
