  This is also possible via scroll position sampling, but it requires a bit more technology.

    That requires JavaScript to be enabled, which limits it a bit.

    Is there a good library for that? It would be a major pain to roll your own cross-browser scrollbar sampling code that could correctly tell you what text was on the screen at each sample (compensating for different layout engines, fonts, browser sizes, and zoom levels)
