Love seeing the range here, from the worst bike I can think of actually riding (IRO hi-ten with heavy ass Velocity deep v’s) to probably my most aspirational frame (Merlin titanium). Thinking back on the worst bike I ever owned right now, a jacked up, semi-frontalled cro-mo Bianchi Pista that I bought off a handsome firefighter in the Bronx. This shit had cruiser bars flipped like a reverse bullhorn when I picked it up, crazy. When I locked the cranks on it I could feel the whole frame flex. I seriously was never worried that anything would ever happen to it… as close to a no-lock bike I ever had.
