Bro even people like me don't turn up to the office if there aren't mandatory days cos nobody can be arsed to go to an office where there's noone there and they haven't built a relationship with their colleagues anyway. It doesn't fulfil the needs I have if it's not a social activity. I think there should be remote jobs and hybrid jobs and you should just choose to work somewhere remote and I should choose somewhere hybrid.
- quickslowdown 3y agoAgreed, to your last sentence. The problem is when a company goes remote during covid, advertises permissions as "remote," then rug pulls everyone randomly demanding "just 1 day a week," and then 2. I don't give an inch on this issue because it's taken a mile. But I do agree that if you are hired somewhere that says it's remote or hybrid, you should be able to expect the job to match what it was described as. And in your case, you could find a hybrid job where people actually go in a couple times a week. That's really all either of us want. If companies would stop playing games, we probably wouldn't have even had this discussion!
