Aside from the topic at hand, I had a realization that an essay written in this manner (from the context I assume with input from at least two people) feels as if written by superhuman, combining the individual insights of each into a greater, more insightful whole. It's obvious, I suppose, but this idea had never crystallized for me before reading this.
