Why America says Apple is a monopoly
- avidiax 3y agoIt is good that America is taking a hard look at its technology companies. They are stifling innovation by technical and legal means in a way that would have killed early Silicon Valley if it had existed at the time. The equivalent of IBM PC clones (cloned iPhones) are technically impossible today because of increased platform security. You can't even clone components of an iPhone because every component has a secure enclave and remote attestation. Essentially adversarial compatibility is dead today without a new legal framework guaranteeing it.
- jjtheblunt 3y agoCNN is such a propaganda rag, which is sad, but in no way unique. America doesn't say Apple is a monopoly, a collection of politicians pandering in desperation for voter attention is saying Apple is a monopoly.
- goosedragons 3y agoIs it not fair to shorten "The United States of America Government" to simply America? When you see headlines like "America bombs X" do you think "America isn't bombing X, it's a collection of politicians pandering in desperation for voter attention"? Because the U.S. DOJ is suing Apple.
