Redis switches licenses, acquires Speedb
- hermanradtke 3y agoThe article mistakenly called the CEO of Redis "Redis Trollope" instead of "Rowan Trollope" and I found this quite amusing.

- caboteria 3y agoAn open source fork is already up and running: https://andrewkelley.me/post/redis-renamed-to-redict.html https://andrewkelley.me/post/redis-renamed-to-redict.html
- biglost 3y agoGreat! I hace bien using keydb for a few months and it also works fine
- justinclift 3y agoDirect URL to the new fork's website: https://redict.io https://redict.io
- Zamiel_Snawley 3y agoThe title of that post, “Redis Renamed to Redict” is absolutely correct. Redis is forking into a new direction, redict is the true continuation of the project.
- vlovich123 3y agoWhat does "RocksDB compatible" mean? Does it mean API compatibility or that the data previously stored in RocksDB is still accessible?
- stavros 3y agoEven though I didn't really mind the change to the SSPL, these new additions to Redis sound like tons of bloat. I hope Redict does well, I'll be switching everything over to it.
- 0cf8612b2e1e 3y agoThat’s the thing- sure there are always edge case bugs, but Redis seems pretty feature complete. It is really fast and does what it says on the tin. Unless a CVE is discovered, would I be missing much if I continued to use the latest release for the next N years?
