I wonder if you could use detector-radio type kit as the electronics for an even bigger flex. i.e. a corroded nickel strip for the diode and some aluminium foil

I wonder if you could use detector-radio type kit as the electronics for an even bigger flex. i.e. a corroded nickel strip for the diode and some aluminium foil for the cap. Mind you that would maybe hardly working but it only has to do so once :)
